The next installment of World Islamic Economic Forum is back and it is held no other than in Sarawak! Steve Wozniak, Co-Founder of Apple Inc. is coming to Kuching! Seeing such a prestigious, grand event is to be held at our very own backyard, it is without doubt that BAWA Cane should be part of this 13th WIEF.

“This is the second time that Malaysia will be hosting the World Islamic Economic Forum outside Kuala Lumpur, the first being the 8th WIEF in Johor Bharu in 2012.”

The Honorary Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman, WIEF Foundation

The entrance fee (USD800) is a little bit discouraging for a little startup such as ours. A fellow co-worker at MaGIC Sarawak Co Working Space, Azhar Mohd, who is also all hyped up about the forum and meeting Steve Wozniak, pointed out and challenged us to submit for IdeaPad, an exclusive session at the 13th WIEF. Meanwhile, he is trying to join as a media partner (He is running an establish website: ilovekch.com).

IdeaPad is a platform for startup business to take the stage and pitch to an audience of potential clients and investors. The selection process is definitively going to be a tough one as WIEF Foundation will only select 4 startups to pitch at IdeaPad that have an innovative product or service, some form of traction, and an attractive pitch deck.
